On My Way
words and music Ben Kweller
G D G D
I want to kill this man, but he turned around and ran
C D C D
I'll kill him with karate that I learned in Japan
G D G D
He wouldn't see my face, I would never leave a trace
C D C D
No, I wouldn't use a bullet cause a bullet's a disgrace
G Bm C Bm
Aw, mom, I never thought that I was a murdering man
C G C G
But tonight I'm on my way, tonight I'm on my way
G D G D
There's this drawer that I know in a house up the road
C D C D
That's full of things that are easily sold.
G D G D
When they go out of town I could go and snoop around
C D C D
And make myself rich off the things that I found.
G Bm C Bm
Aw, mom, I never thought that I was a stealing man
C G C G
But tonight I'm on my way. Tonight I'm on my way.
G D G D
I was sitting on the bleacher staring at the speaker,
C D C D
Reading his lips but I could not understand.

So I opened up my ears and clearly I could hear

Aw, mom, I always dreamt of being a good listener

So tonight I'm on my way. Tonight I'm on my way.
G D G D
There's this kid you gotta meet. He lives across the street.

He's got spirit and heart. We're ten years apart.

He still likes the things we used to think were fun.

Aw, mom, I never thought that I could have a friend

Only pay attention to the tab for the two verses where I notate G-intro, A/Cmaj7/D-intro, etc.
Where the line stops after the underscore, that's where the [G-intro] ends as a measure.

I saw there wasn't a tab for "Watching the Wheels", which is a great song, and I didn't know how to tab it,
so I snuck it in the comments section. I figured the most traffic would be through "Imagine". I also have a
version of "Imagine" that I will post soon.

First, thanks for tabbing this song. All the lyrics are correct and you're very close to perfection. I will
talk about three sections. The intro, verses, and chorus. Man of Peace is half correct. You only use G in
the intro.
So the intro goes:
Dsus2-F#m-Gm
To play a Dsus2 just play a normal D. Take your middle finger off. That's a Dsus2.
The verses are tabbed pretty well. The lyrics are correct. The verse chords go like this:
Dsus2-D-F#m-Bm (2Xs)
E-Asus
Do that whole thing twice. There's your verse. (Asus is an open A5--A5 is a power chord on the second [A]
string--I like the Asus sound while muting the top [E] string).
On all three choruses [sic], the last lyric is "And there ain't no way that you take it away". The chords go:
F#m-Bm
Dsus2-D-F#m-Bm (2Xs)
E Dsus2-D-F#m-Gm (2Xs)
"And there ain't no way that you take it away___________
The second chorus is perfect except for the last lyric, and add an E chord after the last D.
The third chorus is right until the outro. It goes:
E Dsus2-D-F#m-Gm Dsus2-D-F#m-Gm Dsus2-D-F#m-Gm (2X) D
"And there ain't no way that you take it away___________ ...take it away
