Waverly Stagecoach Chords
Audience is a British art rock band. They were originally active from
1969 to 1973, a relatively long band lifespan during that turbulent
and highly productive era (they outlived Cream by a full year)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audience_%28band%29 . They reformed in 2004
and remain active http://www.audienceareback.com/ . Their self-titled
debut album, recorded for Polydor, contained this song, Waverly
Stagecoach. This song is notable for two reasons (besides being a
highly infectious meme that sticks in your head): 1. It is essentially
a short-short horror story told in lyrics, and 2. it uses the same distinctive main
chord sequence as in Dylan's "Lay Lady Lay" without
sounding like it. Although not specifically rare, this album's reprints
are difficult to locate. You can find bittorrent downloads so you can
hear this song, but by all means if you intend to keep it, support the
artists by buying it.
