Dance With Me Baby Chords
Song: Dance With Me Baby
Artist: Ben Rector
Album: Into the Morning
Tabbed by: Patrick Gamache
Alright, so the previous two tabs both have some parts correct, but not all
of it. I decided to just do the whole thing. I also have a version of the
intro figured out, and if I have the time later I might add the solo to the
mix.
Most of what I have figured out here is based on this video of Ben in the
studio: www.youtube.com/watch?v=C14IWlbWlMg. You can see every chord he
plays in the song at least once.
Here are the chords the way Ben plays them:
Verse
G |3x0003| C |x32010| Cadd9 |x32033|
G* |3x2013| Em7 |020033| D* |x54030|
Am7 |x02010| [ch]F#/G[/ch] |200230| A |x02220|
IMPORTANT:
I have notes on some of these chords at the bottom of the page that people
who want to play this song on the guitar by itself will find quite useful.
Intro:
e|--------------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------3-----------------------|
G|0-------2---0-3/4-----------------------0---------|
D|------------------------------3------------2------|
A|--------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------(3)--------------------------------|
^ if you can't hit this note, no worries. It sounds
fine without it.

Notes on the chords:
To play the G and G* chords that make up the main riff, put your pinky
on the e string (higher tone) and your ring finger on the E string (lower
tone). Let your ring finger rest on the A string so that it mutes the string
completely; it's a very pleasant-sounding chord.
The reason that D* sounds ugly when you play it is that the piano covers
up how messed up this chord is. You can see in the video that the pianist
plays an F# as the bass note when Ben plays this chord on the guitar. If
you want to make it sound a little better, try barring it on the second fret,
or at the very least try to hit that low F#, like so: |254232|. If your
fingers are not that flexible, try to get that low F#: |254030|. For solo
guitar, that sounds much better in my opinion. It should be an F#maj7
chord, I believe, but Ben cheats on this song.
Most people play the Em7 like this: |022033|. Both Ben's version and this one
are musically correct, and I think both sound fine.
The G* chord is technically G/C, but that is a bit of an eyesore to tab out,
so I kept the same labelling system as the other version of this song.

Enjoy everybody! Hopefully we can get some sheet music for the piano part
sooner rather than later, no? Don't forget to rate!
