Take Comfort Chords & Tabs
Standard Tuning. This is the rhythm guitar.
I think on the record its played on a classical guitar.
Use your fingers and play softly. Its just C for the Verse and G for the Chorus, both
with same pattern which is:
Bass note (C or G, 5th or 6th string)
Strum Down once first three runs, and Down Up Down on fourth time
Pick string 2, 3, 4, 3
If you can't make sense of that:
e---0---------...---3---------...
B---1-1-------...---3-3-------...
G---0---0---0-...---0---0---0-...
D---2-----2---...---0-----0---...
A-3-3---------...---2---------...
E-------------...-3-3---------...
On the G, you can hammer on the bass note from the seventh (E-2h3- strum) if you like,
but its not essential.
There may be the odd little variation you can throw in from time to time.

C
To think I showed such promise, such potential as a lover
but I guess I had my hands full with myself without another
to occupy my fancies to take food amongst the words ??
hell I should've known I'd never come up with the goods ??
G
I never could
[ Tab from: https://www.guitartabs.cc/tabs/c/cooper_temple_clause/take_comfort_crd.html ]
I will laugh and I will cry
and I'll take comfort in that someday I shall die
C
I've said and I've done things in my time to make you shiver
I've spent time with wistful eyes just staring at the river
in the end I couldn't even find the words you wanted me to say
and in her heart she knows she never knew me anyway
G
what can I say?
I will laugh and I will cry
and I'll take comfort in that someday I shall die
Bridge is just the verse; C ... G
I will laugh and I will cry
and I'll take comfort in that someday I shall die
C
Take for instance if you will a person you don't care for
Not someone you hate just someone you'd turn off the phone for
Spare a thought for them because no matter how much they whine and they moan
There's not a bad thing you can say about them they've not said when they're alone
G
Pick up the phone
I will laugh and I will cry
and I'll take comfort in that someday I shall die
I will laugh and I will cry
and I'll take comfort in that someday I shall die'
