JUST LIKE HEAVEN - The Cure
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuning: Standard
Tabbed By: Girlsplayitbetr
Note: I noticed there are already several versions of this song out there.
The only reason why I submitted my version was because I included the
parts that the synthesizer and keyboard play and I arranged it for the guitar.
So if you're looking to play an extra lead or two in this song,
then you may find this tab helpful.
Intro: (After the 2 measures the bass and drums play by themselves, guitar 1
comes in with this)
e|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-4--4--4-4------------5--5--5-5--9--9--9-9------------------------------|
E|------------4-4--4-4----------------------------------------------------|
Then Guitar 2 comes in, strumming these chords:
e|-0--0--0-0--0-0--0-0-------------2--2--2-2------------------------------|
B|-2--2--2-2--0-0--0-0--3--3--3-3--3--3--3-3------------------------------|
G|-2--2--2-2--1-1--1-1--4--4--4-4--2--2--2-2------------------------------|
D|-2--2--2-2--2-2--2-2--4--4--4-4--0--0--0-0------------------------------|
A|-0--0--0-0--2-2--2-2--2--2--2-2-----------------------------------------|
E|------------0-0--0-0--0--0--0-0-----------------------------------------|
A E Bm D
The the synthesizer comes in:
(Synth. arranged for guitar)
e|-5--4---------------|--------------------5--4---------------------------|
B|------5-3--2-3-5----|-2-3-5-------2-3-5-------5-3--2-3-5-------2-3-5----|
G|-----------------2--|-------2----------------------------2-----------2--|
D|--------------------|---------------------------------------------------|
A|--------------------|---------------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------|---------------------------------------------------|
Notice I have a bar ^^^^ running through the "staff" above. Guitar 1 starts
playing the passage or lead tabbed below once the synthesizer reaches the bar.
The synthesizer does continue to play beyond the bar. The bar is just there
to signify when the lead starts. Most of this lead is based on the A major
scale, so just think of it as running half-way through the A major scale, backwards.
Passage (Guitar 1):
e|-9-9-9-7-7-5--4-4-4-----------------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------7-7-5-----------------------------------------------|
G|--------------------------7-7--6-7-6-------4-4-----------(REPEAT)-------|
D|-------------------------------------7-7-7-----7------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
After repeating the first part, the lead goes on to do this:
e|-----------------------------------4-4-4-5-5-5-7-7-9-9-9-10-10-10-------|
B|-------------------------5-5-5-7-7--------------------------------------|
G|-------4-4-4-6-6-7-7-7--------------------------------------------------|
D|-7-7-7------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
e|-12-12-12-10-10-10-10-9-9-9-7-7-5--4-4-4--------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------7-7-5--------------------------|
G|-----------------------------------------------7-7--6-7-6-------4-4-----|
D|----------------------------------------------------------7-7-7-----7---|
A|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
For the verses, use the same chords played in the intro. (A E Bm D)

*Note* Barred chords can be substituted for open chords. I just thought
bar chords can give the chorus a fuller sound. Do whatever floats your boat.

_________________________________
I tried to be as thorough as possible. I left a few minor details out.
But this song is pretty simple, so I'm sure you can figure those minor
details out.
I probably made a mistake, so corrections
or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
