(My first addition to Ultimate-Guitar Tab)
Chords in brief:
Intro: E F G F E x4
Verse: A F#m E x6
D Bm D Bm D E
A F#m E
Song in more detail:
Firstly, this is just an acoustic approximation of the song. Just the best way that I
have found to play it on a solo acoustic guitar. There are some 2nd guitar bits
in the second verse that are lovely and if you have a loop recorder you might fancy
going off on them whilst the melody continues, but I don't have a loop recorder so
I didn't bother working them out. The end bit, where they go off on one about
enchiladas, is a bit weird and ends with a fadeout which doesn't really work on a solo
acoustic. I made up my own way of playing it. Totally different, but it works much
better in the absence of production.
Please remember: this is never going to sound exactly like the recording but it's the
best way I've found to play it on a solo acoustic.
Play around with it, make it your own interpretation.
Standard tuning.
INTRO: Use your thumb to strum rapidly, but softly, up and down to create a tremulo
effect. Slide your left hand between the chords for the intro. Sounds crazy, but I
prefer it without barring the chords.
E F G F E (repeat x4)
e---0---0---0---0---0----------|
B---0---0---0---0---0----------|
G---1---2---4---2---1----------|
D---2---3---5---3---2----------|
A---2---3---5---3---2----------|
E---0---0---0---0---0-0--0-0-0-|
Whilst strumming the E you might like to use your left hand thumb to play the low
e-string (it kinda subsititutes for that bass/thump noise you can hear in the original recording).
VERSE: Play the "A" as the higher bar chord and, just before you transfer to the F#m,
use your little finger to fret on and off the high e-string 7th fret (you'll work it out).
