Captain Wedderburn Chords

"Captain Wedderburn" (Trad.\Arr. GBS)
   From "Turn" (1999)

This one poses a few questions, guitaristically as well as lyrically.
The mid-song modulation up a step being an issue. while it is possible
and easy enough to play the first bit in C then switch to D, it seems
more likely the capos were moved up via an edit.
the live version with Sarah Harmer on "Road Rage" would
seem to suggest as much, being in D for its entirety

Use a capo on the fifth fret (ignoring modulation-otherwise third fret
for first half) and standard fingerpicking.

Now, my dear good man she said, do not be perplexed
before that you might bed with me you must answer questions six
six questions you must answer me, I will ask them all
then you and I in a bed might lie, roll me over next to the wall,
ah-roll me over next to the wall

 Intro X2

What is rounder than a ring, and higher than the trees?
what is worse than a woman's curse and what is deeper than the sea?
Which bird sings first, which one best, where does the dew first fall?,
then you and I in a bed might lie, roll me over next to the wall
ah-roll me over next to the wall

 Intro X2

 Break: Bm G Bm G Bm G D Bm G D | Intro x1

the earth is rounder than a ring, and heaven is higher than the trees,
the devil is worse than a woman's curse and hell is deeper than the sea
the lark sings first, the thrush sings best, the earth is where
the dew falls first, and you and I in a bed must lie,
ah-roll me over next to the wall, ah-roll me over next to the wall

 Intro X2

He takes her by her lily-white hand, Leads her down the hall,
he takes her by her slender waist for fear that she might fall
he lays her on a bed of down without a doubt at all, now
he and she lie in one bed, ah-roll me over next to the wall
she and he lie in one bed, ah-roll me over next to the wall
roll me over next to the wall, roll me over next to the wall

 Intro X2, End on D
