Passing Afternoon Chords & Tabs
Drop D like so many of the other songs off "Endless Numbered Days". The G chord is never
fully strummed. Rather, a bass line that peddles the open strings is played. The C is a
Cmaj7 and technically the D is Dmaj6 removing the high E string entirely from the chord
and in this case removing the B to open. But unless you strike the open B as clearly as
he does, it sounds fine as just a Dadd9. The clear striking of the open B is something
he uses sparingly and it seems to slowly disappear as the arrangement continues. So strum
each chord and strike the B at your own judgment to mimic the song.
Here is what I play. Remember, Drop D with a 2nd fret capo is required.
