Lady
By Little River Band
Tabbed by Nick C.
I didn't see a tab of this that I liked, so here's my version.
This is my first time tabbing something this large, but any feedback is good feedback.
I tried to get the timing of the lyrics as close as possible,
but sometimes it wasn't possible,
so listen to the song for all the right timings.
Standard Tuning

And I love you best. You're not like the rest.
You're there when I need you you're there when I need
I'm gonna need you.
[Verse 2]
Electric guitar fingerpicks what the acoustic guitar did in verse 1.
It's hard to hear what it does on the D and E chords,
but I just improvise a fingerpicking pattern. Acoustic guitar strums the chords.
A A/G A/F# A/G A A/G A/F# A/G
A long time ago I had a lady to love
D A A/G A/F# A/G
She made me think of things I never thought of
e D
Now she's gone and I'm on my own
A A/G A/F# A/G
A love song has come into my mind
A A/G A/F# A/G A A/G A/F# A/E
A love song, it was there all the time
[Chorus]
(All instruments just play the chords)
D A
So lady, let me take a look at you now
D A
You're there on the dance floor, making me want you somehow
D A A/G A/F# A/E
Oh lady, I think it's only fair I should say to you
e D A (to solo)
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you, 'cause maybe I do
[Solo]
Piano and acoustic guitar play Verse 2
Moderately distorted electric guitar plays:
e|-7b9--9-----7b9-9-9r7-5-------7b9--9-----------5-7b9-7-5-|
B|----------------------7-5------------------5-7-----------|
G|---------------------------------------5-6---------------|

G|----9-11-12--------------------------------------
e|---------9-12-------------|
B|------10------12b14r12-10-|
G|-9-11---------------------|
[Verse 3]
No guitar here, so you can do whatever you want, but these are the chords:
A7 A7/G A7/F# A7/G
Look around,
A7 A7/G A7/F# A7/G
come to me
A7 A7/G A7/F# A7/G A7 A7/G A7/F# A7/G
I have no answers, but know where I wanna be
A7 A7/G A7/F# A7/G
I look around,
A7 A7/G A7/F# A7/G
play a part
A7 A7/G A7/F# A7/G A7 A7/G A7/F# A7/e
I was born in the winter and cooled by a warm heart
Then play the Refrain and Chorus one more time, but finish the chorus with this:
e D A (to riff)
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you cause maybe I do
[Riff]
e|-------------------------------
B|-------------------------------
G|-------------------------------
D|---5---7-9-7-9b11r9p7--9p7---7-
A|-7---7---------------9----9p7--
E|-------------------------------
e|---------------------------------------------------------
B|---------------------------------------------------------
G|---------------------------------------------------------
D|---------------------------------------------------------
A|-7-----------------------------5---------------2---------
E|-------------------------------------------------------5-
Don't be thinkin' that I don't want you, cause lady I do
(And sorry, but I didn't take time to learn the outro. I usually just improvise it.)
