Heart And Heart Chords & Tabs
Tabbed By Ed Cowan
"Head And Heart" by John Martyn
This is a tuning which may be well known. It's called "modal D" and is bassically D A D G A D. For this song however I think that if you leave string 6, aka the "low one," on an E you get a really good JM type chord. 020000 to be precice, try it!
Any way I will write this out as it sounds indicating the slaps with an "S" across the tab.
d||-----------------------------4---|----------------------------0----||
A||-------4---0--S--0-0-0--S--0---S-|------4---0--S--0-0-0--S--0---S--||
G||---0-2---2-0--S--0-0-0--S--0---S-|--0-2---2-2--S--2-2-2--S--2---S--||
D||-----------0--S--0-0-0--S--0---S-|----------4--S--4-4-4--S--4---S--||
A||-0---------2--S--2-2-2--S--2---S-|-0--------2--S--2-2-2--S--2---S--||
E||---------------------------------|------------------------------S--||
Repeat this and then we are in to the chorus, "I love you with my head and
Heart,"etc

E||------------------------------------------ |-0--S--0-0-0--S--0-0--S--||
This happens twice wxcept the second bar is slightly different. You'll have
to listen for it because it is hard to tab.

All The crazy stuff at the end I'm afraid Is too hard. I know what he is doing but can't do it. Bassically he plays an open string slaps the 2nd fret and then the 4th fret of the next sring up and then plucks that.
Enjoy.
