every "-" is a 16th note. the notes marked in the / 3 \ are three notes
fit into the space of one. in this case they divide an 8th note into
three notes. so they are slightly faster than a 16th note, but they are
not 32nd notes :P i have to mark them like that or else they just look
like 16th note quads :P which they are not! just think like playing a
triplet (two 8th notes and a 16th) but instead of two short notes and
then one long one, its three notes in the same space, and then the
longer one. tricky shit, check my gp for a better way to see it :P

in this next section its the same idea just with a 4th note being
divided into three notes, twice in a row. making it faster than a 4th
note, but not an 8th note, you can see the 8th and 16th notes here.
