Tuning: Drop C
intro
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
G|-------5--5br-----------------------------|
C|-0-0-0--6---------------------------------|
Play that 3 times then play this
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
G|-------5--56------------------------------|
C|-0-0-0--6---------------------------------|
Play the whole thing 4 times, playing the bends and the not on the sixth fret
as pinch every now and then
The verse is just little licks on the c minor scale with wah added in. I just
play this:
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------7-----------------|
G|--7---7h10p7—5---xx—8p7-------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
Every now and then play the last note as a harmonic.
The chorus is this:
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|-------2-3-4-5--------5-4-3-2-------------|
G|-0-0-0-2-3-4-5—-0-0-0-5-4-3-2-------------|
C|-0-0-0----------0-0-0---------------------|
Go through the whole sequence again then on the last chorus at the end play
the same just slower. End on the open C5 chord. For the soft part of the bridge
play this clean a little wah:
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|----------(3—4—5)-------------------------|
G|------5br---------------------------------|
C|--0-0-----(3-4-5)-------------------------|
Alternate between playing the lower and higher sets of notes
For the heavy part of the bridge play this with distortion
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|-0-0-----3-4-5----------------------------|
G|-0-0-5---3-4-5----------------------------|
C|-0-0-----3-4-5----------------------------|
At the end of the heavy part play that same riff, with wah on the 5th string C note
Now, what you've all been waiting for. The solo. The entire solo is in C minor
and C pentatonic scales, but since you are tuned down, you just play it as if
you were playing D scales in standard tuning. It starts out with just the same
thing as the soft part of the bridge, then andy comes in with this:
d|------------------------------------------|
A|---10----10---10—10-11--------------------|
F|------10----10—10-----10------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
Just play around with those notes for a minute until you come to the next part:
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|-101010101010---10------------------------|
C|--------------12--12----------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|

d|-------------------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------------|
F|----10-12-12b---12-12h14p12-10-------------|
C|--12---------------------------10h12-10h12-|
G|-------------------------------------------|
C|-------------------------------------------|
Then there's this cool little run:
d|------------------------------------------|
A|-13b-r-10-10h11-10h11p10---10-------------|
F|-------------------------12---12-10-12-10-|
C|------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
And the run ends on this:
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|-9-10-10/12-10----------------------------|
C|---------------10-12----------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
Then there are a series of lower hammer-on licks
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
G|---8-10-10h12-10-8-8h10-8-----------------|
C|-12-----------------------12--------------|
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|-----------------------10-10h12-10--------|
G|---8h10---1012---8h10---------------------|
C|-x------x------x-----x--------------------|
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|-------------------------------------~----|
G|----8-10-10h12-10-8h10-8-7h8-7-5-3-3/5----|
C|-12---------------------------------------|
Right after that last part the distortion kicks in and the drum beat changes
d|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
F|-------------10-12-12b—12-12h14p12-10-----|
C|--7-/-12--12------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
d|------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------13b-r10-10h11--|
F|-------------------10---------------------|
C|-10h12-10h12-10h12------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
Then you run down the C minor scale. It is pretty much random licks, but I always play it this way:
d|------------------------------------------|
A|-10h11p10--10-----------------------------|
F|---------12—-1210-10h12-10----------------|
C|--------------------------12-10h1210-12---|
G|---------------------------------------10-|
C|------------------------------------------|
That run leads straight into the next part where the background guitar starts play the
riff. For that part I play this:
d|------------------------------------------|
A|---------1515br---------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------|
C|----------------13/15-13/16-13/17---------|
G|------------------------------------------|
C|-0-12-12----------------------------------|
After that you run down the scale in a similar way to the one above, rockin that wah the whole time.
The rest of the solo is just random licks from that same scale sometimes I use this scale too:
d|------------------------12-13-15----------|
A|-------------------13-15------------------|
F|----------12-14-15------------------------|
C|-12-14-15---------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------|
Well that's all I've got for you. Hope this helps. Have a nice day. So far on the only
I've done, the spacing got really messed up. I hope that doesn't happen this time. enjoy.
