Foam has been called by the band one of the hardest songs
they play. The four different parts that each member plays
are completely independent from each other. There are tons of
dissonant notes, chromatic lines and chords, and rhythmic
oddities. Have fun and really work on the solo section. It

Then the big C chord and page does a solo over trey
who plays these chords. It doesn't really matter what
octave you play them in or which fingering you use as
long as it is the chord. or something.

You basically do that chord phrase three times through for the

Solo to "Foam" by Trey Anastasio and Phish

Foam is a fairly straighforward solo to play, but it's a lot of fun
nevertheless. The solo works very directly from the chords: if you look
at the notes of the solo, it's really just arpeggiations
that outline the chord changes. The beauty of the solo (IMHO) is how
each chord leads into the next, and how the solo anticipates the chord
change in such a natural way.
