Here's another song that is played in drop-B tuning (NOT DROP-D!) - actually I suspect that Tom may be using a 7-string guitar (which has b string lower than the low e) but if you don't have a 7-string guitar (like me) you'll want to tune your low E down to a B (fret the E string at the tenth fret and tune down until it sounds like the open a string) and play my version below:
