No Shelter Chords & Tabs

Rage Against The Machine Chords & Tabs

Version: 5 Type: Tab

No Shelter Tab

I should note before I begin... This is all based off of watching and listening Tom live
Olympic Grand Auditorium. I think that version is much better than the studio, and I
most of it is the same. I elaborated as much as I could to describe how I think the solo
played, but I think I ended up sounded like a blabbering bafoon. But, that's for you to judge...

Introduction: Use some type of distortion. I know he doesn't use a wah-wah pedal for
but it sounds cool with it, anyway. But use something, doesn't sound right clean.

E|------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------|
G|----------------------x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|
D|-10/12---15---10/12---x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|
A|-10/12---15---10/12---x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|
D|-10/12---15---10/12---x-x-x-x-x-x-x-|

Verse: Here comes the wah-wah. Some distortion with it doesn't sound that bad, either.
timing and rythmn with this part is a bit tricky, do something like this.

E|------------------|
B|------------------|
G|------------------|
D|------------------|
A|5p3--5-3-5-3-5-3--|
D|------------------|

Chorus: Same as the introduction. Use the same effects and such.

Bridge: For the bend ("b")... Push it "to the sky" then put it back to the regular,
that for a second, then releasing, really fast. The last two sixteen, I'm not very sure
it... Don't use much distortion on the whole thing.

E|--16b--16b--16b--16b--16b--16b--16b--16b-----|
B|-------------------------------------16b-----|
G|---------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------|

Solo: Not sure of every effect used here, but I know for sure there's that wah-wah pedal
Sounds good with just wah-wah and some distortion, but there could be something else
I don't know of. Probably whammy. Use the same effects throughout the entire solo, though.

Here, "h" means hold, and "r" means release pretty much right after you strum it, and
means vibrato. Do this three times.

    (h) (r)
E|--16v-------16-----|
B|--16v-------16-----|
G|--16v-------16-----|
D|--16v-------16-----|
A|-------------------|
D|-------------------|

After that section... For all these strums, release right away, just like the last time.

E|--16-16---16-16--16-----|
B|--16-16---16-16--16-----|
G|--16-16---16-16--16-----|
D|--16-16---16-16--16-----|
A|------------------------|
D|------------------------|

Then do the first section of the solo three more times, then the second part variates a
Same strumming style.

E|--16-16-16-16-16-16-16---|
B|--16-16-16-16-16-16-16---|
G|--16-16-16-16-16-16-16---|
D|--16-16-16-16-16-16-16---|
A|-------------------------|
D|-------------------------|

Then this three times ("/" means slide).

E|------------------------------|
B|--13/16-16/15-15/14-14/13-----|
G|------------------------------|
D|------------------------------|
A|------------------------------|
D|------------------------------|

One more part of the solo! I can't really tab this... But you slide up and down between
and sixteen on the B string. Experiment with that... You can go up higher or down lower.
really not possible to tab, and it's random. Do it three times, though.

Ending: Use the same distortion you were using for the chorus and introduction.

E|-----------------------------|
B|-----------------------------|
G|-----------------------------|
D|-------------3---------------|
A|----5-3--------5-3-5---------|
D|-0-------3-------------3--5--|

Here's how you play it...

Introduction: Four times.
Verse: Sixteen times.
Chorus: Four times.
Verse: Sixteen times.
Chorus: Four times.
Bridge: Once.
Solo: Once.
Ending: Six times.
