Version: 1 Type: Tab

Over The Hills Tab

This song is performed in standard tuning with a capo on 6 and is fairly easy to play as
long as you get the timing right.
NB: The numbers in brackets denote the amount of bars you should play this chord for,
not the amount of strums you should do. It's difficult to convey the strumming pattern
through tablature so I would advise you to listen to the song to figure out the strumming.

Intro and verses (play twice over before singing begins)
(below are the syllables (from the 1st verse) which are sung at the same time as each
chord is first strummed to help you with timing)
    'hear' '-ing' 'see' 'fog'
      (x4) (x2) (x2) (x2) (x2) (x2) (x1) (x1)
e------0------0------0------0------0------0------1------0-----|
B------1------1------1------1------1------1------1------1-----|
G------2------0------0------0------0------0------2------2-----|
D------2------2------3------2------0------2------3------3-----|
A------0------0------0------3------3------3------3------3-----|
E-------------------------------------------------------------|
Intro Am Am7 Am7/C C C/D? C F F
Verse Am Am Am7/C C C/D? C F F
[ Tab from: https://www.guitartabs.cc/tabs/t/the_tallest_man_on_earth/over_the_hills_tab.html ]
The only difference between the intro and the verse is that he plays Am for four bars
and then moves straight onto the Am7/C chord.

Chorus-y bit
(again I've put the syllables of the words sung at the same time that each chord is
first played to help with timing)

   'bound' 'new' 'hills' 'blue'
     (x8) (x8) (x2) (x2) (x2) (x1) (x1) (x8)
e-----0------0------0------0------0------1------0------0------|
B-----3------1------1------1------1------1------1------3------|
G-----0------2------0------0------0------2------2------0------|
D-----2------3------2------0------2------3------3------2------|
A-----2------3------3------3------3------3------3------2------|
E-----0------------------------------------------------0------|
      Em F C C/D? C F F Em

The song uses the same chord progression throughout. The only chord used in the song
which I haven't noted down is a variation on an F chord at 2:33 which is something like:

e---0-----|
B---4-----|
G---2-----|
D---3-----|
A---3-----|
E---------|

Song order:
Intro
Verse
Chorus-y bit
Verse
Chorus-y bit
Verse
Chorus-y bit
Instrumental verse (same as intro)
Instrumental chorus
Verse
Chorus-y bit

And that's it. Happy guitar-ing.
